Mad Dog & Friends Get It Down!

Mad Dog Blues Duo with Mad Dog Friedman on harmonica & vocals and Stevie D. on acoustic guitar and vocals

MAD DOG BLUES is an acoustic blues duo with Mad Dog Friedman on harmonica & vocals and Stevie D. on acoustic guitar and vocals. Our music is heart-felt and characterized by soulful vocals and easy-going harmonies. We play early 20th Century blues and originals along with some contemporary acoustic rock favorites and classic Americana. Our unique “Colorado Country Blues” sound fuses delta blues, southern bluegrass, hokum and acoustic jam music. For trio settings, we add in local favorite, Jeff Becker on mandolin, acoustic gutiar & vocals. The full band features Clark Chanslor on stand-up bass and cello. We also can add in hand percussion as appropriate. An early version of Mad Dog Blues won it's way to the Finals of the 2018 Colorado Blues Challenge.

Here's what fans have said about Mad Dog Blues:

Fine night of sharp, syncopated Blues. Wonderfully expressive performance with a depth of feeling and sense of humor and play you don't always find together.--‎Duane Davis, owner of Wax Trax Records

...but the old blues brothers played like pro's played like they meant it played like they had to -- Wayne Gilbert, poet

Real Acoustic Country Blues ... In an intimate setting --Gary Halsey, Colorado Blues Society

Cranial Sacred® is Mad Dog Friedman's project to produce music that is truly psychoactive. Put simply, this music is designed to get you high.  Although live shows are rare, you may test drive over 100 tracks of psychoactive music for free at maddogfriedman.bandcamp.com.

(If you are looking for something different, something both healing and relaxing, you can occasionally catch Alexander Bernat on Celtic Harp with Mad Dog Friedman on Native American Flute performing their spontaneous compositions at a local coffee house, an art show opening or a healing music event, so please keep an eye on the calendar.)
